Helping the body of Christ to grow Spiritually
The necessity of the new birth - grows out of the incapacity of the natural man to see or enter the kingdom of God, However gifted, moral, or refined he may be the natural man is absolutely blind to spiritual truth and incapable of entering the kingdom Jesus goes beyond mans concept and comes to the very heart of man's problem, the need for spiritual transformation or regeneration produced by the Holy Spirit
The new birth - is not a reformation of the old nature but a creative act of the Holy Spirit. The expression "old man" has its meaning in all that man was in Adam, both morally and judicially, i.e. the corrupt human nature, the inborn tendency to evil in all men
The Need for Spiritual Transformation - There needs to be a way where Man can be made acceptable before God. The need for spiritual transformation or regeneration is a necessary requirement. In his search for an answer to this question of “how man can get right with God” Nicodemus seeks answers from Jesus. Jesus says to him “you must be born again”
The Bible records for us that men are dead in sin. They are "dead in trespasses and sins" (Eph. 2:1, 5), "without God in the world" (Eph. 2:12), and "alienated from the life of God" (Eph. 4:18). They are dead to the spiritual realm of life.
There is no redemptive contact between the sinner and God. Blind men are dead to the realm of sight; deaf men are dead to the world of sound; paralyzed men are dead to the realm of touch; sinners are dead to the things of God.
A New Creation - When sinners enter into Christ, they become new creatures. They are a new creation When Christ enters into them, they receive newness of life. Having established a union with Christ, believers receive a special quality of life from Him. They are on a new level of existence. Life for them acquires a new dimension; to the horizontal is added the vertical. They sustain relationships not only with men, but also with God.
The Bible not only indicates the need of being "born again" but also there is clear indication that the “New Creation” carries with it the idea of adoption or sonship
Adoption is that act of God in salvation wherein He, as Father, places His redeemed child in the position of an adult son with all the privileges of legal inheritance. He who is adopted is an heir. Newness of life and adoption are linked together. Newness of life gives the nature of sonship; adoption gives the position of sonship
"to become the children of God" means to trust in the name of the incarnate Word.
